These are the 5 most frequently asked questions

How can I modify my registration?

Please log in to your Mud Masters profile to modify your registration. You can also send us an e-mail if you have any questions.

Is it possible to cancel a participant or team and get the money back?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to cancel participation and receive a refund. This is in line with the General Terms and Conditions, that you agreed with during your registration.

However, it is possible to transfer the e-tickets to another participant. This can be done by clicking 'Change' next to your ticket and personalizing it to another person in your personal Mud Masters profile.

Shortly before the event, transferring a ticket via the profile is no longer possible. At this point, you can download the e-ticket directly and it is possible for someone else to use your ticket.

Do spectators also have access to the event?

Yes! It is possible to come to Mud Masters as a spectator. For spectators aged 18 and older, a spectator ticket is required at the start-finish area. A limited number of tickets are available to avoid crowds, traffic jams and overloaded facilities. This way all participants and spectators have a good and safe experience. Spectator tickets are available on our website.

Please note that it is very difficult to track participants properly on our track. Unlike many running races, participants do not run with a chip (there is no time registration) and the experience is that there is a lot of difference in the speed at which participants run the course. If you want to follow someone, we recommend picking a maximum of 2 obstacles to watch, otherwise you are likely to miss out on the participants you came for.

How can I register our company?

Teambuilding, what an excellent idea! You can register your company on our application page. If you prefer not to pay directly by credit card or debit card, payment may be made by invoice within 14 days.

Another option is to sign up individually and share the start time with your colleagues so they register directly for the same (if available) start series and pay separately. If you are registered for the same start wave you will surely start at the same time!

How can I register our group or company?

Participating in Mud Masters is a great team building exercise and the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better.

Tickets and group size
When you decide to participate in Mud Masters as a group or company, it is often not yet certain exactly how big the group will be. We recommend that you initially purchase the minimum number of tickets you think you will need. If additional participants join later, you can order more tickets.

When you planning to participate with a group of 30 people or more, it's possible to make a non-binding reservation up to 12 weeks before the event. We can reserve the tickets for you for a maximum of 4 weeks, giving you time to put together your team. Please send an email to service@mudmasters.nl if you're interested in this option.

Registration and payment

As the main booker, you can purchase all the tickets for a team (you are then the team captain). When you buy all the tickets as a booker, you must register the team and are responsible for payment. As the main booker, you can choose the number of tickets, the distance(s) and the start time(s). As a group/company, you can all start together even if some participants are running different distances. The first few kilometers (depending on the course layout) can then be run together, after which the route splits.

for companies, it is possible to pay afterwards by invoice with a payment term of 30 days. Choose the payment method ‘bank transfer’ and fill in the company details.

If participants book their tickets individually, it is important that everybody selects the same start time so that they can all start together.

Please email service@mudmasters.nl if you wish to book more than 50 tickets.

If you lose something during the event and realize it immediately, please report the item at the check-in desk. In extreme weather conditions, we may have to pause or cancel the event. We will of course inform you as soon as possible. The safety of the participants and spectators is our priority at all.

I get an error when I try to sign up on the website. What should I do?

Error messages are annoying and we want to help you resolve your issues.  Sometimes the problem can easily be resolved. Try signing up in a different browser or use a different computer. If nothing seems to work then please send us an e-mail.

Up until when can I sign up?

You can register up to one day before the start of the event, but the longer you wait, the greater the chance that the event will sell out.

Are there any foods and drink stands on the course and/or the event terrain?

Dependent on the distance you are running, you will come across one or multiple drink stations where we hand out water and fruit. Are you still thirsty after the finish or did the run make you feel hungry? We can imagine. There are plenty of stands where you can buy food and drinks.

Are there first aid posts on the event grounds?

Of course! There is one first aid post at the start/finish area and there will be first aid workers on the course to provide direct medical help when necessary. They are in direct contact with our Course Marshalls who continuously keep an eye out for possible calamities on the course.

Are there any changing facilities?

In the start / finish area you will find changing facilities for men and women.

What safety measures do you take?

Our team includes an extensive safety organization. A risk analysis is made before each event. Based on this analysis, appropriate measures are taken if needed. In addition, safety is continuously actively safeguarded during the run by a large team of safety coordinators. Additionally, there are multiple First Aid posts on the festival grounds and course where you can go for help with open wounds, dirt in your eyes or other physical complaints. Furthermore, we receive advice from various authorities about the water quality on the course. Despite all of these measures, however, open water always carries risks.

What can I as a participant do to guarantee my safety and that of my fellow participants?
Make sure you eat and drink enough and start with a decent warmup before the run. Also take the weather conditions into account. For example, wear a thermal shirt, long pants and a hat when it is cool. If it is very hot and sunny, wear a cap and sunscreen. Sturdy (trail run) shoes with a good profile (no spikes!) give you stability.
Make sure that you do not dive or jump into water if you do not know how deep it is (and if you cannot swim of course).
Be aware that an outdoor event does not take place in a clinical setting. Avoid ingesting water and rinse yourself thoroughly after the run. Also check yourself and each other for ticks after the run. Report to the first aid post with (scrap) wounds or any other physical complaints. Make an appointment with your doctor if you get any complaints after the event.
Also pay attention to your fellow participants on the trail and warn the organization if you see Mud Masters needing help. There multiple course marshalls that you can always address who are in direct contact with our safety coordinators.
At what time is the event site open?

Normally, the event site opens around 8 a.m. On the event page you can read what time the (parking) site will open for a specific event.

When is it mandatory to be accompanied by an adult (18+)?

Children younger than 11 years must be accompanied by an adult, in possession of a valid Mud Masters Family Edition ticket.

How can I find my photos?

You can find your photos by choosing a day followed by uploading a photo of yourself or taking a selfie with your phone.
Please note: New photos can be added up to 36 hours after your participation. After 36 hours, all photos taken by our photographers will be online.

How does facial recognition software work?

The software that we use will find your photos within seconds after you have taken your search selfie. This selfie will immediately be deleted by the system. This technique is very sustainable and has been used for years at sports events all over the world. Of course your privacy and security is our priority. That is why Mud Masters only works with reputable suppliers with whom good processing agreements have been concluded. This means that your data (and also photos) are handled with great care. We have also recorded this in our privacy statement.

I can’t find any photo(s). What can I do?

Did you upload a clear image of yourself in high quality? Did you wait 36 hours after your run already? Then we advise to check if you see yourself in the photos of your teammates during the run.

Still no photos? Please email us at service@mudmasters.nl and we’ll see if we can help you. However, there’s a good chance that we won’t be able to find your photos either.

Why can’t I find more photos?

We have taken personal photos at several locations and you should be able to find at least 2 photos of yourself. Photos can be added up to 36 hours after the event. Always try to search using a clear, high-quality photo.

If there are less than 2 photos available, please consider the following explanations:

How does Mud Masters organize events in harmony with nature?

Mud Masters is a fantastic outdoor adventure with tremendous respect for the nature our events take place in. Therefore, we spent several years finding and optimizing an 'eco-proof' way of organizing our events. Since the participants start the run staggered and in small groups, the run's impact on nature doesn't differ much from regular outdoor usage of the territory. Participants are divided into about 20 starting groups throughout the day and follow a marked route. Route planning and choice of event terrain are carried out in collaboration with professional ecologists and local foresters, who advise us on what areas the course can lead through and which should better be avoided. Where necessary, measures are taken to prevent the disturbance of flora and fauna. These include adjusting the route.

Our eco-friendly approach to the organization of our events has been confirmed and approved by several governmental organizations.

After the event, the terrain will be restored in order to be able to recover fully. In addition to the restoration costs, Mud Masters pays a user fee invested in the ecologically responsible maintenance and development of the terrains.
