After your run

I lost something. What should I do?

That’s annoying. If you realize you have lost something during the event, please go to the start number desk where we collect all lost items. If you don’t realize until after the event, then you can drop us an e-mail. If we find your lost item(s) we will send it to the address you provided when registering for the event.

My finish shirt doesn’t fit. Can I exchange it for a different size?

Did you become so muscular from all the hard training that your shirt won’t fit anymore and you need a different size than you ordered? You can try to exchange your shirt on the day of the event. We procure only a limited number of exchange t-shirts, so we cannot guarantee that your preferred size will still be available.

I forgot to collect my finish t-shirt. Can you still send me one over?

Obviously you were in a state of ecstasy when you reached the finish line and ran straight for the bar. Understandable, however after the event we cannot send any t-shirts to your doorstep. If you are dying to get your hands on of these shirts then we recommend you to participate again, at another edition.

Photos and Videos

I know that more photos of me were made than what I can find on my personal page. Where can I find them?

In that case, you were probably photographed by an enthusiastic amateur photographer who isn’t a part of the Mud Masters Team and to whose photos we have no access. The official Mud Masters photo and video locations were the Flyer, Splash Jump/Execution, Mud Crawl, and the start and finish. There was also one photo booth on the course and one photo booth in the start/finish area.

The system doesn’t recognize my name. What is the problem?

In that case, you probably didn’t put your ticket under your name before the run. But no problem! You can still find your personal photos and videos by searching by time or by your start number. This number is on the ankle bracelet that you wore during your run.

I see photos of other people on my personal page. How is this possible?

That’s right! All your photos and videos on your personal page are made within a certain time frame. Your brave fellow Mud Masters that were at the same spot at the same time are also linked to your personal page. Great proof that you weren’t the only one who suffered, right? 😉

Safety

Are there first aid posts on the event grounds?

Of course! There is one first aid post at the start/finish area and there will be first aid workers on the course to provide direct medical help when necessary. They are in direct contact with our Course Marshalls who continuously keep an eye out for possible calamities on the course.

What measures will be taken in case of extreme weather conditions?

If the weather conditions necessitate safety measures, appropriate adjustments to the course will be made. In case of extreme weather conditions we may have to cancel or pause the event. In this instance you will be notified by email. The safety of our participants and spectators is our foremost priority.

What safety measures do you take?

Our team includes an extensive safety organization. A risk analysis is made before each event. Based on this analysis, appropriate measures are taken if needed. In addition, safety is continuously actively safeguarded during the run by a large team of safety coordinators. Additionally, there are multiple First Aid posts on the festival grounds and course where you can go for help with open wounds, dirt in your eyes or other physical complaints. Furthermore, we receive advice from various authorities about the water quality on the course. Despite all of these measures, however, open water always carries risks.

What can I as a participant do to guarantee my safety and that of my fellow participants?

It is possible that you will become cold. If you notice that your body no longer warms up after running for a bit and you are so cold that you shiver badly, report to the organization so that we can help you. There are warm drinks, aluminum blankets and tents available.

Don’t jump into the water if you don’t know how deep it is. At the Splash Jump and Flyer, the water is very deep. Diving and going in head first are not permitted here.

Prevent taking in water. If this does happen, however, and you start to notice physical complaints after the run, then go to your family doctor or GP.

Rinse yourself off very well at our rinse installation after the finish and protect yourself against the sun with proper clothing and/or sunblock.

In the forested areas on the course, there may be ticks. Check yourself and each other for ticks after the run.

Also, pay attention on the course to your fellow participants and warn the organization if you see that other Mud Masters need help. There are dozens of course marshals walking around, who you can always approach and who are in direct contact with our safety coordinators.
